David S. Deason became vice president of Barnes & Noble Development in January 1997. The Barnes & Noble Development group has been responsible for the site locations, designs, and construction of more than 700 Barnes & Noble “super” stores. Mr. Deason identified and approved the sites, and helped manage the negotiation of leases and the construction process for more than 500 of these state-of-the-art stores.

Mr. Deason joined Barnes & Noble in January 1990 as a director of real estate. Previously, he was a director of real estate for S&A Restaurant Corporation, a national restaurant chain, which he joined in 1980.
Mr. Deason attended the University of Texas at Dallas. He serves as a board member of Creative Learning 4 Kids, a non-profit educational charity which provides tutorial services and mentoring for children. He resides in Dallas, Texas, with his wife and three daughters. |
